  1. MINUTES OF NOVEMBER 4, 1990 QUARTERLY MEETING
  2. 5TH QUARTERLY MEETING - ANNUAL MEETING

  8.      The Mutual UFO Network of North Carolina, Inc. (MUFON-
  9. NC,Inc.) 5th quarter meeting and annual meeting was opened
  10. with a word of prayer by our Stare Director George D. Fawcett
  11. of Lincolnton.
  12.      Opening comments by Fawcett included a word of thanks to
  13. the host committe members for their excellent work in setting
  14. up the meeting. Other brief comments covered door prozes,
  15. membership requirements, currwnt projects of various officers
  16. and members.
  17.      George E. Lund III of Charlotte gave a brief report on
  18. current lectures, published works, National UFO Information
  19. displays in both Charlotte and Durham and the last Field
  20. Investigators Seminar conducted by the Greater Charlotte
  21. MUFON Investigators, as his Public Relations Directors
  22. report.
  23.      In the absence of Kent Senter of Durham, the Secretary's
  24. minutes were read by Fawcett and approved as read.
  25.      Robert Hair, Assistant State Director from Eden next
  26. recognized all new MUFON-NC, Inc. members and then reported
  27. on the Nominating Committee's list of officers nominated to
  28. serve in 1991.
  29.      Officers nominated and accepted by acclimination:

  32. Durham - Secretary, Natalie Ginger Richardson - Charlotte -
  33. Assistant Secretary, Granville Angell - Vale - Treasurer,
  34. Jayne Ware - Winston Salem - Historian, George D. Fawcett III
  35. - Lincolnton - Public Relations Director.
  36.      John Feilke of Lincolnton and gave a brief report on his
  37. UFO Computer Bulletin Board System, and Danny Barger gave a
  38. brief report on the upcoming UFO lecture by Budd Hopkins in
  39. Charlotte. Both were congratulated for their efforts to
  40. promote MUFON-NC,Inc., and Barger was congratulated for his
  41. excellent computer "Carolina UFO Newsletter", which was
  42. distributed widely.
  43.      Gran Angell, MUFON-NC, Inc. Treasurer reported that we
  44. had $184.00 on deposit but that this amount did not include
  45. any new memberships and donations collected at the Charlotte
  46. meeting, nor expenses incurred at the same, as this
  47. information was not yet available.
  48.      In opening the program part of the agenda, State
  49. Director Fawcett stated that we had approximately 174 in
  50. attendence at the meeting and some had to be turned away due
  51. to the crowded meeting room. It was also noted that a PA
  52. system was badly needed for future meetings also.
  53.      The first speaker of the day was Wayne Laporte (Indian
  54. Trail) who spoke and showed slides covering the topic
  55. "Dimensionalism." Laporte pursued the theory that many (but
  56. not all) UFO sightings are triggered by seismic energy
  57. created by fault line activity and that such events cound not
  58. only cause electromagnetic effects on soil, animals, machines
  59. but in some cases can cause hallucinations concerning
  60. occupant encounters.
  61.      The second speaker was George Fawcett III (Lincolnton)
  62. who gave an update on recent and upcoming books, T.V.
  63. documentaries, symposiums, movies, ect. Fawcett chose for his
  64. topic "An Update on England's Crop Circles" where he outlined
  65. some of the morepuzzeling ones of over 800 found in England
  66. in recent years. He also noted that similiar reports recently
  67. have come from Germany, Japan, Australia, Canada, Kansas,
  68. Florida and North Carolina. Some involved UFO's.
  69.      Intermission came next with a selection of good food and
  70. light drinks and was highlighted by a presentation of a
  71. MUFON-NC, Inc. "First Anniversary" cake provided by Gail
  72. Feilke, who designed and baked it for the meeting.
  73.      Following the intermission period, a large number of
  74. door prizes were given to the lucky persons, whose names were
  75. drawn. A large number of printed handouts, which included
  76. book lists, meeting notices, resource listings, questionars,
  77. membership forms, UFO quizes, officer listings were also
  78. distributed.
  79.      Fawcett next thanked Robert Hair for his presentation of
  80. a MUFON-NC, Inc. gavel to the organization and passed around
  81. the engraved gavel to the audience to inspect.
  82.      The thisd speaker of the day was Ginger Richardson
  83. (Charlotte) whose topic "The John Lear Story, The Greys, Us
  84. and Alien Bases" proved to be both interesting and
  85. controversial. Richardson covered the hypothesis that our
  86. government has agreements withe creatures from outer space.
  87. Our government allegedly gets advances technical knowledge
  88. in exchange for harmless medical experiments on humans. The
  89. USA-ALIEN pact apparently has been violated by these
  90. creatures, who have proceeded to abduct humans for food and
  91. impregnate women to create hybrid offspring, ect.
  92.      The fourth speaker was Mark Blashar (MUFON-Va. State
  93. Director from Manakin-Sabot) who told of "Updated UFO Events
  94. From Virginia." Blashar noted an increase of reports in
  95. Virginia and told of auto chases, occupant encounters,
  96. missing time experiences, radar interferences. These cases
  97. involved domed discs, manta ray, and diamond-shaped objects.
  98.      The fifth speaker was Dr. Steven Greer (Ashville) who
  99. feels there is a real chance for bilateral exchange
  100. (communications). Dr. Greers thesis and talk "The CE5
  101. Initative" was well received also. He feels that humans must
  102. extinguish destructive behavior like war, before alien
  103. contacts can begin. They are seeing such contacts themselves,
  104. but are cautious of their oun security as well. Case in
  105. point: Father Gill "waving hands" contact in New Guinea, also
  106. car "blinking lights" responses elsewhere.
  107.      A reminder by Fawcett that after the meeting, members
  108. and guests would ajourn and meet at a nearby Shoney's for
  109. food and further questions came next.
  110.      The five hour meeting came to an end after the showing
  111. of a 52 minute video film entilted "UFOs: A Scientific
  112. Enigma", produced by the MUFON-Mass. organization and
  113. provided by Danny Barger of Lincolnton.
